Cookbook Cook Off Contest

Black Mesa CattleWomen and Pioneer Days are proud to announce the Black Mesa CattleWomen Cookbook Cook Off Contest. This is a new competition for 2025 Pioneer Days. The cook off will happen on Friday, June 13, 2025 at the Crawford Town Hall. Contestants will bring their dishes at 11:00am with the public tasting and judging from 11:30 to 12:15. The Winners will be announced at 12:30.
Youth & Adult Prizes will be provided by the Black Mesa CattleWomen/Pioneer Days:
Adult: 1st place-Beef Bundle (approx. $100 value),
2nd place-10# ground beef,
3rd place-Beef sticks;
Youth: 1st place-$50 and beef jerky,
2nd place-$25 and beef jerky,
3rd place-$10 and beef jerky.

Black Mesa CattleWomen Cookbook Cook Off Contest Rules!
- The cook off will have two categories. An adult division and a youth division (18 and under). It is acceptable if two contestants wish to work as a team.
- Each contestant will select a beef recipe from Black Mesa CattleWomen Vintage Cookbook. Limited copies are available from the Crawford Library, Crawford Pioneer Days, or Black Mesa CattleWomen.
- Contestants will make enough for 10 people. All public attendees are invited to have a small taste of each dish and then cast their vote for their favorite.
- The beef dish should be displayed in an attractive manner. Garnishes are encouraged.
- Small tasting cups, spoons, napkins, and bottled water will be provided by Pioneer Days.
All prizes will be given out at the cook off after winners are announced at 12:30.
